SJRC Texas works with foster kids in our communities in Medina and neighboring counties. April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and these cardboard kids will be displayed at local businesses around Medina County and this region to draw attention to this important issue. And if you own a local business, you can put the one you create in your business window or lobby or anywhere it will be visible. We will have free snacks and would love for you to BYOB and come paint/decorate one of the 50 cardboard kid cutouts we will have available that night! Supplies will be provided (everything from decoupage papers, fabrics, fun embellishments, paint, markers, etc, so just show up, hang out with us and create something that will benefit the kids in Southwest Texas! Ideas to get you inspired! Maybe design your cardboard kid to look like: -a favorite teacher -a local community member -a Hondo football/soccer/baseball/etc player -a family member -a favorite musician -a favorite actor -a favorite fictional character We will have paper and fabric for decoupage, embellishments, yarn, paint, pens and more to create something amazing! Let's get creative, have fun, support our local foster kids and raise awareness to the issues they face. If you are a local business and would like to donate door prizes for those who come to the event, DM me! We would love to make this a really fun night that also supports the kids in our community who don't always have a voice. AGES: 10 and up. Ages 10-15 need to have an adult working with them. We welcome younger children to the event, but they need to have an adult managing the project.
